Lewis Barfoot is a London-Irish singer, songwriter, musician, actress and dancer based in Cork. She has been performing under the folk umbrella for over a decade, with two full-length studio albums to her name: Glenaphuca (2021) and HOME (2023), both of which received strong support from across BBC Radio, RTÉ Radio 1, Folk Radio UK and RTÉ na Gaeltachta. A seasoned performer with a pure, angelic voice and a flair for storytelling, Lewis blends contemporary folk with traditional influences, creating music that is both intimate and mythically resonant. Her live shows are known for their warmth, sincerity, and luminous quality that invites audiences into a deeply felt experience.

Currently, Lewis is developing a new EP of old folk songs called The Old Bog Road and she is also expanding her sound into jazz and blues.  In 2024, she formed the Lewis Barfoot Jazz Quintet, making their debut at the 2024 Cork Jazz Festival, with a return appearance confirmed for 2025—this time joined by French trumpeter Julien Silvand. In addition to her musical projects, Lewis teaches blues dancing in Cork City and continues to explore the fertile ground between music, movement, and storytelling. 

Prior to her music career, Lewis worked extensively in the UK and internationally as an actress, dancer and director. Highlights include playing opposite Kevin Spacey as Queen Isabel in Richard II on The Old Vic’s first international tour, performing Kate in The Taming of the Shrew with Aquila Theatre (New York), and touring 21 countries with visual theatre company 1927 in The Animals and Children Took To The Streets. She directed and wrote 4 full scale musical productions for British Youth Music Theatre (YMT) and devised her debut solo show The History of the Pomegranate, weaving live-looped soundscapes with mythic storytelling. This theatrical foundation continues to inform her music, lending every performance a ritualistic energy and deep sense of narrative.
